I recently adopted a new labradoodle and a friend gave me a copy ofOrganizing the Care of My Dog as a gift. It is wonderful! My adopted
dog was rescued from a high kill shelter after being dropped off by a
puppy mill. She was loaded with parasites and had heartworms. The
people who had originally purchased her, returned her because of the
heartworms. She has never known love and spent her entire life in
cages. She has some issues that we are work through and this book allows
me to document everything for my pet sitting service for when I travel.

I love this book--and it's companion, Organizing the Care of My Cat--for its great organization and thoroughness. It really saves time when planning for the temporary care of one's dog, and is absolutely indispensable in the event of unplanned care. Plan a few moments to fill it in, as it is very comprehensive. You, your dog, and your dog's care-taker will be glad you did!
This book is a wonderful place to organize information about our dog. I found it well written and easy to use it also made me think about questions I had not even entertained which improves the care of our pet when she's being watched by others. In fact, our local board and day care facility bought several copies and now encourages other dog owners to use it. I keep it up to date each time she visits the vet and can easily reference vaccination dates, etc. I've also been able to describe her personality and play habits which gives sitter's a heads up toward better interaction with her. I really feel every pet owner would benefit from owning this little resource.
"Organizing the Care of My Dog" is a great resource for every dog owner. This workbook provides one place to keep all the important information you need for your pet, instead of a file folder full of random pieces of paper. If a friend or family member must unexpectedly assume the care of your dog, all the information they need is at their fingertips......much less stress for everyone involved especially your furry friend. "Organizing the Care of My Dog" would be a great gift for any new dog owner!!
